Neola Eunice, daughter of Charles E. "Chat" and Susan "Florence" (Garber) Dustin, was born September 6, 1916, west of Gray, Iowa. She graduated from Gray High School in 1934. Neola clerked in Harry Raebel's store, and then worked as a housekeeper in Jefferson for a year. After a move to Glenwood, she worked at the State School for a year and a half. Neola returned to Gray where she worked at the grocery store until her marriage.
On March 15, 1946, Neola was united in marriage with John J. Moeller at the Gray Methodist Parsonage. Two sons were born to this union. The couple lived on a farm south of Manning for 46 years, moving to Manning in 1992. In addition to being a busy farm wife, Neola enjoyed her family and friends. She was a member of the Gray United Methodist Church and past-president of the United Methodist Women's group. Neola was also a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries and past-president of both organizations. She also belonged to the Friendly Neighbor Club.
Following a brief illness, Neola died on Saturday morning, August 25, 2007, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Carroll, Iowa. She was 90 years, 11 months and 19 days old.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband John J. Moeller in 2001; three sisters: Lula Boers, Gladys Young and Imograce Muzney; and four brothers: LaVerne, Cameron, Milton and Bill (E. Charles) Dustin.
Neola is survived by her sons John Dee Moeller and wife Becky of Badger; Craig "Spitter" Moeller of Manning; grandchildren Lisa and husband Ryan Hartley of Clarinda and Jeffrey Moeller of Ft. Dodge; four great-grandchildren: Morgan, Maddie and Mayson Hartley; and Landon Moeller; sisters-in-law Laura Moeller of Manning and Jean Dustin of Independence, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
