NELLIE MARIE OHRT
Nellie, daughter of George and Alfreida (Molter) Mohr, was born December 2, 1903, near Manning, in Crawford County, Iowa. She attended the rural schools near her home. As a young woman Nellie was employed at the Rober-Wehrmann Store in Manning.

On December 20, 1922, Nellie was united in marriage with Julius Ohrt. Two daughters, Marian and Shirley, were born to this union. The family farmed near Manning. After Julius died in 1947 Nellie moved to Manning to make her home; in later years she lived with her daughter, Shirley, in Manning. Nellie was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the women's organizations.

For the past two weeks Nellie had been in ill health and entered the Manning General Hospital on Saturday, March 12, 1994, where she died later that day at the age of 90 years, 3 months, and 10 days.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her children: Marian and her husband, Marvin Petersen, of Irwin and Shirley and her husband, Virgil Reid, of Manning; three grandchildren: Connie Petersen, of Carroll; Brian Reid and his wife, Lisa, of Manning; and Barry Reid and his wife, Lori, of Denison; and one great-grandchild, Maddison Reid.
