MRS. HERMAN ULLERICH

Mrs. Herman Ullerich, 81, who had lived in Manning the last three years, died Thursday noon, March 25, 1954, at the Manning General Hospital. She had been admitted to the hospital Wednesday night.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lincoln Township, Audubon County. The Rev. William D. Kanning will officiate. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hubert Lamp, David Moody, Fred Rudnick, Karl R. Bogatzke, Walter Bald, and Clarence Zinke.

The body is remaining at the Ohde Funeral Home until the time of the rites.

Mrs. Ullerich, daughter of Ketel Henry and Christina (Jergensen) Ketelsen, was born Nancy Christina Ketelsen March 23, 1873, at Charlotte, Clinton County, Iowa, When she was 13 years old the family moved to California. Later, they spent a year in Nebraska, where she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Battle Creek.

At the age of 15 she came to Audubon County with her parents.

She married Mr. Ullerich November 25, 1897, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township.

Mr. and Mrs. Ullerich lived on the Ullerich homestead in Lincoln Township until 1936, when they moved to the home of their children, Clara, Walter, and Herbert, on an Audubon County farm.

Three years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Ullerich, with their three children named, moved into a new home in South Manning.

The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary November 25, 1947.

Mrs. Ullerich is survived by her husband, eight children, 11 grandchildren, and two sisters. The children, in addition to the three at home, are Lynn and Dick, Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Erwin, San Diego, California; Mrs. Frank (Rose) Kauth, and Hugo Ullerich, Paducah, Kentucky. The sisters are Mrs. Carl Borkowski, Sr., Manning, and Mrs. Sophia Polzin, Napa, California.

Mrs. Ullerich was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, two brothers and two sisters.
