Myra Kay, daughter of John and Goldie (Stammer) Meeves, was born January 23, 1939 at Wyatt Memorial Hospital in Manning, Iowa. She attended Aspinwall Independent School near her home and then graduated from Manning High School in 1957.

On August 31, 1957, Myra was united in marriage with James J. Wittrock at Sacred Heart Church in Manning. They made their home on the farm where they raised their seven children. Myra helped with the farm work and also bred dachshunds. In 1976 they moved to Manning. Myra worked at Nelson Manufacturing, Farmland, owned Myra's Place in Aspinwall, and was the assistant manager at both Casey's and Manning Foods. In 2014 she retired from Templeton Rye in Templeton, Iowa where she proudly helped with the bottling and gave tours. Myra's work ethic was proven through all her accomplishments. During her spare time she enjoyed fishing, playing cards, gambling, Facebook, and her cell phone (even at the forbidden dinner table). Myra's number one priority was spending time with her family and beloved dogs, Baxter and Dudley.

The last few years, Myra suffered from various health issues. Her death on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center ER in Des Moines was unexpected. She was 77 years, 8 months, and 15 days of age.

Preceding her in death are her parents; twin siblings Merlin Dean and Joan Beth as infants in 1934 and her brother Roland Meeves.

Myra is survived by her seven children Rick Wittrock of Manning, Mark Wittrock (Karen) of Winfield, KS, Tom Wittrock (Sherri Wagler) of Manning, Susan Kusel of Thornton, Colorado, David Wittrock (Stacie) of Overland Park, Kansas, John Wittrock (Darla Neumann) of Manning and Sandy Klocke (Kris) of Des Moines; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister in law Laurene Meeves of Aspinwall; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
