Funeral services were held for Delmar J. Mundt Friday, October 21, 1988 at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Manning. Reverend Father Ralph Reinhart officiated the service with music provided by Sacred Heart Choir. Interment was held in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Manning with Emeron Dettmann, Barry Kusel, Melvin Potthoff, Melvin Sommers, Lester Joens and Walt Riesselman as casketbearers. Rosary was held Thursday, October 20, 1988 at 8:00 p.m. at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.
Delmar, son of Fred and Bertha Gessmann Mundt, was born June 5, 1913 near Denison, Iowa. The family moved to the Manilla area; Delmar attended school there and was graduated from Manilla High School in 1930.
April 8, 1942 Delmar was united in marriage with Loyola McCullough at St. Ann's Church in Vail. Two years later they moved to their farm one mile west of Manning where they raised their family. A year ago they retired and moved to their present home in South Manning. Delmar was a member of Sacred Heart Parish.
Following a lengthly illness Delmar died early Wednesday morning, October 19, 1988 at his home in Manning at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 14 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Lorene Enenbach.
Delmar is survived by his wife, Loyola, of Manning; by the following children: Gary Mundt and his wife, Linda, of Aurora, Colorado; Barb and her husband, Richard Brusegaard, of Omaha; Julie Stessman, of Aurora, Colorado; Jeanne and her husband, Gary King, of Grand Island, Nebraska; Marci Mundt, of Denver, Colorado; Randy Mundt and his wife, Deanne, of Des Moines; Dick Mundt and his wife, Beth, of Manning; Lori and her husband, Brian Potthoff, of Manning; and Alan Mundt and his wife, Jan, of Manning; by 21 grandchildren; by one great-grandchild; and by other relatives and friends.
Delmar Mundt is buried in the Manning Catholic Cemetery.
