Miss Parker was a pioneer teacher and church worker having taught in this vicinity for about thirty-five years and lived in her home north of Manning for sixty-two years. She was an energetic worker in the local Methodist Church and organized, and furnished equipment for a primary department.
Miss Parker was born April 2, 1874, at Dixon, Illinois, and passed away at the age of sixty-seven.
She came to Manning with her parents when she was five years old and lived here ever since. She received her Masters Degree in Dixon, after which she returned Manning.
Surviving are one brother, Charles Parker of Mapleton, and three sisters, Mrs. Grace Waugh, Corvallis, Oregon; Miss Jennie Parker, at home, and Mrs. Ida Roeksien of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She also leaves a niece, Mrs. Glenn Plunkett, of Philomath, Oregon, and a nephew, Lee Rocksien of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mrs. Rocksien and Mr. Plunkett are both at the Parker home at present.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Clara who died about fifteen years ago
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church at 2 o'clock with Rev. F. Aldrich officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
