MRS. MINNIE MEYER

Mrs. Minnie K. Meyer, 82, died at her home in Manilla Wednesday, January 5, 1972, after being in failing health for many years.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manilla, where friends may call starting at 5 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Ronald Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Irwin with grandsons as pallbearers.

Mrs. Meyer was born northeast of Manning February 15, 1889, a daughter of Jurgen and Anna (Timm) Husmann, and attended school near her home. She was married to Herman Meyer at Carroll October 28, 1914. They farmed southeast of Manilla until moving into town in 1933. Mr. Meyer died in 1957.

Surviving are six children: Alvin of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Mrs. John (Bernice) Butts of Harlan, Mrs. Leo (Elizabeth) Densmore of Lohrville, Berdella, at home, Mrs. John (Minnie) Morgan of Des Moines and Mrs. Cloyd (Ora) Nullins of Paton; also 19 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Mathilda Eichmeyer of Brookings, South Dakota.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Meyer was preceded in death by two grandchildren and 11 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Minnie Meyer, 82, at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manilla at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 1972, with Rev. Ronald E. Meyer, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.

Mrs. Marvin Kuhl was the organist and accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Charles Segebart. Ohde Funeral Home of Manilla was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were grandsons. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Irwin.

Minnie, daughter of Jurgen and Anna (Timm) Husmann, was born February 15, 1889, northeast of Manning. She attended Ewoldt No. 1 country school near her home, and on October 28, 1914, was united in marriage with Herman Meyer at Carroll. This union was blessed with six children.

They farmed southeast of Manilla until 1933 when they moved into town.

Her husband died in 1957 and since that time she has made her home in Manilla with her daughter, Berdella.

Mrs. Meyer had been in failing health for many years and died at her home Wednesday, January 5, 1972, at the age of 82 years, 10 months, and 20 days.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, 11 brothers and sisters and two grandchildren.

She is survived by her six children, Alvin of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Bernice, Mrs. John Butts of Harlan; Elizabeth, Mrs. Leo Densmore of Lohrville; Miss Berdella Meyer at home; Minnie, Mrs. John Morgan of Des Moines; and Ora, Mrs. Floyd Mullins of Paton; 19 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Matilda Eichmeyer of Brookings, South Dakota; as well as many other relatives and friends.
