Former Manning Business Man Dies in Nebraska
Milton C. Wilcox of Neligh, Nebraska, formerly of Manning, died Saturday night, December 21, 1941, according to word received by friends here. Funeral services are to be held Tuesday with burial beside his wife's father in the Saint Michaels Cemetery at Hartington, Nebraska.

Mr. Wilcox, letter known as "Red," operated the Thrifty Market at Manning for three or four years before leaving in April 1941 for Neligh, where he purchased a grocery store.

He is survived by his wife and baby daughter.

He was born in 1901.


Milton Wilcox, 40, Buried Here Tuesday
A ruptured appendix caused the sudden death of Milton Wilcox, 40, husband of the former Miss Gertrude Markley of Hartington, Nebraska.

He died at Neligh, Nebraska, Saturday, four days following an appendectomy.

Wilcox, owner of a grocery store at Neligh, was born at Springfield, South Dakota. He was also employed by the Parrish Grocery Store in Norfolk, Nebraska.

He and his wife observed their 11th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving; married December 4, 1930.

Survivors include the widow; one daughter, Barbara Jean, 5-months-old; his parents; two sisters, and one brother.

His father was E.J. Wilcox.

Mrs. Wilcox is a daughter of the late W.H. Markley, who died September 17, and Mrs. Markley, who resides in Hartington.<

Funeral services were held at Neligh Tuesday. Interment was in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery here with the Jones Funeral Home in charge.
