Milton Mayer
Milton "Jim" Mayer, 93, of Fremont, Nebraska, formerly of Santa Ana, California, died Saturday, December 22, 2007, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

He was born March 31, 1914, in Manning, Iowa, to William and Anne (Wolters) Mayer. He was raised in Manning where he graduated from Manning High School in 1932.

He then traveled and lived several places in the United States prior to moving to Alhambra, California.

He married Nora L. Naber on June 3, 1947, in San Francisco, California.

After his marriage, they lived at Santa Ana. They moved to Fremont, Nebraska, in 1994.

He worked for Orange County in California for many years as its election supervisor, retiring in about 1973.

Survivors include his wife.

He was preceded in death by five sisters.

The graveside service will be Wednesday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Atkinson, Nebraska, with the Rev. Nancy Nyland of St. John's Lutheran Church in Atkinson officiating.

There will be no public viewing or visitation.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
