In Loving Memory MILDA PETERS
Milda, daughter of William and Emma Nagel Wegner, was born March 8, 1908 in Iowa Township, Crawford County, Iowa. She attended country schools. March 23, 1927 she was united in marriage with George Peters in Carroll. To this union three children were born, Danny, Cynthia, and David. Milda and George first lived in Aspinwall, moving to Manning in May of 1941. After their children were raised Milda worked at Johnson's Department Store in Manning until it closed. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and its Ladies Guild; Garden Club; Wa-Tan-Ye; VFW Auxiliary; and the Manning Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed donating her time at the Hospital Snack bar and Manning Plaza as well as participating in her pinochle club
Milda died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home early Tuesday, December 25, 1990 at the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 16 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by three brothers; Louie, Eddie, and Henry "Mike" and by two sisters, Elsie Schrum and Mamie Gosch Janssen.
Milda is survived by her husband, George Peters, of Manning; by her children: Danny Peters and his wife, Lois, of Monte Vista, Colorado; Cynthia and her husband, Larry Genzen, of Manning; and David Peters and his wife, Deanna, of Plano, Texas; by 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; by a sister, Helen Petersen, of Manning; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
