Melitta C. Palmatary
Melitta C. Palmatary, 97, of 1302 Woodlawn Avenue, died Thursday, October 10, 1986, of heart failure in St. Francis Hospital.

She was born September 29, 1896, daughter of Louis F. and Frances (Von Egert) Moser, of Manning, Iowa.

Mrs. Palmatary retired in 1966 as executive vice president of Corporation Service Company in Wilmington, Delaware, where she started as a secretary in 1927.

She held a bachelor's degree in education from Iowa State University, and taught in public elementary schools in Du Pont, Washington, for several years before coming to Wilmington in the mid-1920s.

She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, the Federation of Republican Women, the Du Pont Country Club and many area social clubs.

Her husband, Charles, died in 1979.

She is survived by her son, retired Colonel Robert H. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Erma H. Moe and Lois R. Query, both of Tacoma, Washington; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in McCrery Memorial Chapel, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road, where friends may call Sunday after 7 p.m. Burial will be in Wilmington Brandywine Cemetery, Wilmington, Delaware.
