Manning Funeral services for Max Karl Weinbrandt, 59, retired farmer, were held on Thursday, December 7, at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Rev. George B. Eschenbacher conducted the 2 o'clock service.

Nephews acted as pallbearers. Burial was in Manning Cemetery.

Born October 11, 1902, in Hayes Township, Crawford County, he attended rural schools and later the Lutheran School in Denison.

He worked as a farmhand until his marriage to Amelia Vinke on September 15, 1925, at Denison.

The couple farmed in the Vail, Westside and Manning areas until they moved to Aspinwall in 1955.

He died at his home there on Monday morning, December 4, 1961, after several months' illness.

He was preceded, in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

He leaves his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Lois) Schagt, Ida Grove; Mrs. Donald (Donna) Koch, Charter Oak; Mrs. James (Myra) Jensen, Iowa City; Mrs. Kenneth (Beverly) Hollander, Council Bluffs; nine grandchildren; two brothers, August Weinbrandt of Denison and Fred Weinbrandt of El Cajon, California; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Plotz of Denison; and Mrs. Herbert (Hilda) Baker, Kiron; and a half-sister, Mrs. Lena Jessen, Deloit.
