Services Held Here Friday For Mrs. Emil Wiese

Funeral services for Mrs. Emil Wiese were held at the Ohde Funeral Home Friday afternoon, March 23, at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Arthur Raeside of the Presbyterian Church conducting the services. Music was furnished by a quartet: Mrs. Nick C. Schrum, Mrs. Albert Dietz, Herman C. Pahde and Clifford M. Johnson, with Mrs. Bonita Hagedorn at the piano.

Pallbearers were Alfred Nissen, Albert Andresen, Albert Musfeldt, Claus Strosahl, Lester Genzen, and Ray Sander.

Mrs. Wiese was born Mary Witt, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reimer Witt, April 5, 1881, in Schleswig Holstein, Germany. She passed away, at her home March 21, 1945, at the age of 63 years, 11 months and 16 days.

In the year 1883 she came to America with her parents and brothers and sisters. On March 4, 1901, she was united in marriage to Emil August Wiese, after which they lived near Manning for a time and then farmed near Arcadia for twelve years. Since 1914, they have lived on their farm north of Manning.

She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Alta, Mrs. Henry Hansen of Manning; two grandchildren, Alvan and Lola Hansen, and one great grandchild, Roger Hansen.

She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Lage, Manning, and Mrs. L.D. Bruggeman of Laurel, Nebraska, and one brother, August Witt, of Red Oak. Her parents, two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wiese was a member of the Homemakers club, members of which attended the services in a body.

We also extend our thanks to Rev. Raeside for his comforting words, the choir, those who sent floral offerings, and all those who assisted us in any way.

Mary Wiese is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
