Mary Evelyn Carmouche was born October 21, 1941, in Egg Bend, Louisiana to Otis Carmouche and Gladys (LaBorde) Carmouche. She married Richard Vehrs in January 1963 and traveled the world.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband, Richard Vehrs; sister, Barbara Carmouche; brother, Leon Carmouche; and brother-in-law, Roy McKay.

She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Garcia of Pflugerville, Texas; son, Rex Vehrs and wife Shelly of Flower Mound, Texas; her grandchildren, Richard Garcia and wife Monica of San Antonio, Texas; Tana Bennie and husband Jesse of Pflugerville, Texas; and Cameron and Regan Vehrs of Flower Mound, Texas; great grandchildren Mason and Wyatt Bennie of Pflugerville, Texas; and Logan Garcia of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Norma McKay of Harrison, Arkansas; Kay Harlow of Highland, Texas and Debbie Crenshaw of Colfax, Louisiana; brother, Robert Thomas of Kennedy, Texas; and lots of nieces and nephews.
