Mary Lou Summers Mary Lou Summers, 87, of Childress passed away on August 24, 2021. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, Amarillo, Texas.

Mary Lou was born on March 15, 1934, to Edward and Dorothea Petersen in Manning, Iowa.

She was an avid bowler who also enjoyed the game of golf. Mary Lou loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family remembers her as a fun, carefree woman who also enjoyed a night or two at the casino. It goes without saying that Mary Lou loved life, and all the people she came in contact with. She will be missed by so many.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Gordon Lee Petersen, and her husband, Delmar Summers.

Survivors include her two daughters, Kandi Self (Phillip) of Childress and Lynn Buckley (Ken) of Waco; one son, Kyle Summers of Aztec, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Scott Self (Sarah), Kacy Crouch (Rey), Lacy Naumann (Bert), Lance Buckley (Rachel), and eleven great grandchildren.
