Funeral services were this morning, October 24, at Ascension Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids with the Rev. John Emerson officiating. Burial was at Orange Township Cemetery in Coon Rapids.
Casket bearers were Mike Hagan, Joe Sievers, Richard Knudsen, Kenneth Knudsen, Bob Sievers, and Channing Stone.
Vocalist was Marcia Young, and organist was Pat Schwartz.
Ohde Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Born June 10, 1899, at Manning, Mrs. Sievers was a daughter of Lloyd and Viola (Mayberry) Barnes. She lived with her parents on a farm near Manning.
On January 23, 1917, she was married to Herman Sievers at Sac City. They farmed near Manning until 1934, when they moved to a farm south of Coon Rapids, where they remained until Mr. Sievers died in 1978. Because of heart problems, Mrs. Sievers entered the Thomas Rest Haven nursing home in 1979.
Mrs. Sievers is survived by two daughters, Beatrice Knudsen of Bayard and Ila and her husband, Nels Knudsen, of Mesa, Arizona; one son, Merlin Sievers and his wife, Claribel, of Coon Rapids; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren: and one daughter-in-law, Shirley Sievers of Coon Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Lyle, on March 7, 1988; one granddaughter, Carol Jean Stone; and two brothers, Jesse LeRoy Barnes and Lloyd Barnes.
