MARY (MRS. LOUIS) SCHROEDER DIED AT ASPINWALL

ASPINWALL Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Ohde Funeral home in Manning for Mrs. Louis Schroeder of Aspinwall, who died on Thursday morning, August 17, 1950, at her home. Rev. C.W. Schmidt, pastor of Denison, was in charge.

Mary Lemester, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lemester, was born in Renvas, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on March 6, 1873. She came to this country at the age of two years with her parents. They lived mostly in and around Westside.

On February 24, 1893, she was married to Louis Schroeder. To this union six children were born: William, Amanda (Mrs. Hans Clausen); Emma (Mrs. John Schilling); Harry, all of Aspinwall, and Florence (Mrs. Henry Thomssen), of Manilla. One daughter, Margaret, preceded her in death. The deceased was baptized in the Lutheran faith and in 1939, upon confirmation she became a member of the Denison Lutheran Church.

The family lived in and around Aspinwall almost all of their married life. She had not been in the best of health for many years. She became bedfast about seven weeks ago and during that time her relatives took care of her in her home. She is survived by her widower, her two sons and three daughters and 14 grandchildren.

Interment was in the Manning Cemetery with six grandchildren as pall bearers: Alvin, Robert and Roy Schilling; LaVerne, Donald and Wallace Schroeder. A quartet furnished music at the service.

Out of town relatives who attended were Mr. and Mrs. August Schroeder of Round Lake, Minnesota, Henry Schroeder of Niobrara, Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Schroeder, Mrs. Elsie Schroeder, Mrs. Ralph Keinike, all of Schleswig; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schroeder and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schroeder, all of Denison, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mordhorst of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Schroeder of Council Bluffs.
