Marvin Pfannkuch
Funeral services for Marvin Francis Pfannkuch were held Monday, January 11, 1993, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Manning. Reverend Marshall Brown officiated the service with Connie Siepker as organist and Dean Fara as vocalist. Interment was in Manning City Cemetery, Manning, Iowa, with Steven Pfannkuch, Raymond Kock, Jr., Clifford Olson, Jr., Colin Pfannkuch, Keith Pfannkuch, and Norman Schluter as casketbearers.

Marvin, son of Frank and Emma (Voege) Pfannkuch, was born March 22, 1912, in Jackson Township, Crawford County, Iowa. He attended rural school in Crawford County and then worked for area farmers.

On January 4, 1939, Marvin was united in marriage with Viola Kock at Wheatland Presbyterian Parsonage near Breda. After their marriage they moved to Manning and farmed until June of 1975 when they retired and moved into town. During his retirement Marvin still went to the farm daily to help his son. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Manning where he served as an elder and a trustee.

Marvin died suddenly and unexpectedly at his home while blowing snow on Friday morning, January 8, 1993, at the age of 80 years, 9 months, and 17 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers: Francis, in infancy and Ludwig.

Survivors include his wife, Viola, of Manning; his son, Dale Pfannkuch and his wife, Renee, of Manning; two grandchildren: Ryan and Rachel Pfannkuch; three brothers: Earl Pfannkuch and his wife, Lorene, of Manning; Kenneth Pfannkuch and his wife, Lucille, of Manning; and Don Pfannkuch and his wife, Kay, of Manning; two sisters: Irene and her husband, Clifford Olson, of Carnarvon and Edna and her husband, Jack Ramsey, of Manning; a sister-in-law, Bernice Pfannkuch, of Vail; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Marvin Pfannkuch is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
