MRS. MARTHA PLOEN

Funeral rites for Mrs. Martha Ploen, 84, will be held at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, with the Rev. Carl Sinning of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Ray Pratt will be soloist for the service, and Mrs. Henry W. (Bonita) Hagedorn, organist. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

A daughter of Claus and Gretje Klindt, she was born January 28, 1881, at Westside. As a child she moved with her parents to a farm ten miles northwest to Aspinwall. She was married to Hannes Opperman, and they moved into Manning 50 years ago. Mr. Opperman died October 3, 1933. On October 23, 1945, she married Peter Ploen, who died March 2, 1955.

She continued to make her home alone in Manning. Entering Manning General Hospital two weeks ago, she died there Sunday morning, February 28, 1965.

She was preceded in death also by two sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by two step-sons, Herman and Harry Ploen, Manning, and a brother, Emil Klindt of Aspinwall.
