MRS. MARY VAN PATTEN
Mrs. Mary Van Patten, sister of J.G. Shumaker, former Alamo resident
passed away at Houston, Texas, Wednesday, May 25, 1938, according to word
received by Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Shumaker of Alamo. Mrs. Van Patten was 80
years old at the time of her death. She lived at Alamo with her brother J.G. Shumaker
from 1933 to March 1938, when she was taken to Houston for medical treatment and remained there until her death.
The body will be shipped from Houston to Manning, Iowa,
where interment will take place. She will be buried beside her husband and son
who have preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, J.G. Shumaker
who was with her at the time of her death. Mr. Shumaker, longtime resident of
Alamo has been in Houston since April this year.
