Mrs. Marie Porsch Died in Hospital
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church for Mrs. Marie Porsch, 64, who died early Friday morning at St. Anthony Hospital, Carroll. The Rev. George B. Eschenbacher officiated. Burial, under direction of the Ohde Funeral Home, was in the Manning Cemetery. Pallbearers were Howard French, Roy Borkowski, Victor Schmidt, Lloyd Borkowski, John M. Weible and Merle Stoelk.
Mrs. Porsch was born April 19, 1892 at Bienau, East Prussia, Germany. Coming to the United States at the age of 15 years, she settled near Ross. She married Adolph Porsch Feb. 23, 1911. They lived on various farms in Audubon County until 1943, when they moved to Manning. Mr. Porsch died Feb. 3, 1955.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Porsch was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard, two brothers and one sister.
Surviving children are Mrs. Lawrence (Annie) Petersen, Glidden; Herman Porsch, Audubon; Mrs. Herman (Margaret) Schmidt, Audubon; Mrs. Marie Froyd, Manning; Mrs. Ray (Erna) Schultz, Rathdrum, Idaho; Arnold Porsch, Belle, Calif.; and Otto Porsch, Manning.
Mrs. Porsch also leaves one sister and three brothers in Germany; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She has been in failing health several years and has been a hospital patient since July 23. She reached the age of 64 years, three months, and eight days.
