Last rites for Mrs. Claus Strosahl, well known Manning lady, and a resident of this vicinity for many years, were held Wednesday afternoon, April 16 at 2 o'clock at the Ohde Funeral Home. Services were conducted by Rev. J. M. Ansorge, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church.

The deceased was, born, August 31, 1883, at Hilgroven, Wesselburen, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Her maiden name was Margreta Eckhoflf. Her mother died when Mrs. Strosahl was, three years of age.

In 1910 she went from Germany to Argentina, South America and in 1913 came to the United States. She came to Manning where she was married to Claus Strosahl on March 5, 1913 a childhood neighbor who had come to Carroll county in 1907. The ceremony was performed in the home of Mr. Strosahl's sister Mrs. Claus Nielson.

Mr. and Mrs. Strosahl lived on a farm northwest of Manning for 24 years before moving to their present home a mile north of Manning three years ago.

The deceased leaves her husband, two daughters and two sons: Margot, Chicago; John, Anchorage, Alaska; Mrs. Clarence Bowers (Mercedes), Manning, and Claus Jr. at home; two brothers and two sisters in Germany.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church.
John, her son, an electrical engineer in Alaska, missed his boat and was not able to be here for the funeral. However burial will await his arrival.
Mrs. Strosahl passed away on April 9th at St. Anthony hospital following an operation for gangrenous appendix.

Margaretha Strosahl is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
