Mrs. Chris Tank, 87, died Monday in Carroll hospital
Funeral services for Mrs. Chris Tank, 87, will be held today (Thursday) at 2:00 p.m. from the Ohde Funeral Home with the Rev Carl Sinning of the First Presbyterian Church in charge. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Mrs. Tank died late Monday evening at St Anthony hospital in Carroll, where she had been for three months.

She was born Margaretha Hass, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marx Hass, on August 31, 1869, in Clinton, oldest of ten children. She came to Crawford County with her parents in 1883, and in 1891 was married to Chris T. Tank of Manning. They had one son, Louie.

In 1893, Mr. Tank and Mrs. Tank moved to a farm north of Manning, then into Manning proper. For a time they moved back to the farm again, and then returned to Manning. In 1941, Mr. and Mrs. Tank observed their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. Tank died June 11, 1946.

Mrs. Tank is survived by her son, Louie; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two brothers: Henry Hass of Lakefield, Minnesota, and Frank Hass, Manning; and two sisters, Mrs. William Nulle of Manning and Mrs. Henry Paulsen of Audubon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister.
