MRS. MARGARETHA RONNFELDT
April 11, 1912 Manning Monitor

Margaretha Ronnfeldt nee Mohr was born the 28th of October 1863. In 1872, as a young girl she came to America with her parents, locating in Clinton County, Iowa. Here in 1890 she was married to the surviving husband, Frederich Ronnfeldt. Soon after their marriage they moved to Crawford County, settling on a farm near Manning, Iowa. From thence they went to Manilla. This union was blessed with four children. One boy died in infancy and one died at the age of eight years.

The life of the deceased was one full of experiences. For the last 15 months she has suffered more or less. On January 1, 1911, she suddenly took sick. In May of the same year she was taken to an Omaha hospital for treatment. Here she remained 15 months without much change in her condition. She constantly grew worse and medical aid could do little more than give relief. The deceased undoubtedly realized how serious her condition was and that very little hopes were entertained for her recovery. Four weeks ago she called for her pastor to administer the Lords Supper unto her. She was confirmed confessing her faith in Jesus. In this faith she remained till on Good Friday morning at 9 o'clock, when she passed into the other world, where all her sufferings were changed into everlasting joy. She attained the age of 48 years, 5 months and 7 days.

Those that mourn her death are the following: The aged father Frederich Mohr; the husband Frederich Ronnfeldt, the two sons, Willie and Emil; five brothers, P. Mohr, of Ute, Iowa; Christian, Otto, John and George Mohr, of Manning, Iowa. Three uncles, John and Hans Kruse of Manning and P. Kruse of Nebraska.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the Friedens Church in Manilla. Many friends and acquaintances paid her tribute. Interment was made at the Iowa Township Cemetery, Rev. A.W. Fruechte officiating.
