Graveside services for Mrs. William Zabel of 2519 Mason Street, Omaha, will be held at the Manning Cemetery at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, with the Rev. Alexander Wimberly, in charge. Friends and relatives will gather at the Francis J. McMahon home at 2:30. Rites will be under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
Born in Germany July 1863, Mrs. Zabel, who was well-known in Manning, her former home, died in Omaha Thursday night, March 13, 1941. She is survived by her husband, a retired claim agent for the Union Pacific Railroad, and two daughters, Mrs. Ella Stelow, of Long Pine, Nebraska, and Mrs. Frances Hoffman of Miami Beach, Florida. She was an aunt of Mrs. Elsie McMahon, Alfred Paulsen, Herman and Alfred Lage of Manning.
Mr. and Mrs. Zabel lived at Manning when the town was very young. They owned a large tract of land in South Manning which they sub-divided into lots.
Margaret was the daughter of Jens Paulsen and Anna M. Borgren of Longhorn, Schleswig, Germany. She immigrated to the United States in 1884.
She married William Zabel on June 21, 1888 at Woodbury, Iowa. She was the sister of Eline (Mrs. Henry Lage) Lage, and Paul Paulsen.
