Margaret Ann Wilfong, daughter of Mary Gawley and Andrew Dales was born July 14, 1868, in Cambridge, Ohio. She came to Shelby County when she was 14 years old.
On August 16, 1889, she was married to William H. Wilfong at Harlan. They lived in the Botna community until 1940 when they moved to Manilla.
Mr. Wilfong died in 1947 and Mrs. Wilfong has made her home with her children the past five years. She enjoyed good health until she fell and suffered a broken hip.
She was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital at Carroll where she died following day, Thursday, January 5, 1956, at the age of 87 years, 5 months, and 21 days.
Preceding her in death were her parents, nine sisters and brothers, her husband and an infant. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert Flint and three sons, Dolpha and John of Manilla and Guy Wilfong of Sidney, Nebraska. Also seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Ohde Funeral home in Manilla, Sunday afternoon January 8, 1956. The Rev. Orland Johnson of Wesleyan Methodist church of Denison officiated and burial was in the Manning cemetery.
Pallbearers were Frank Means, Harold Calvin, Ed Theobald, George Flint, Floyd Grage, and T.J. Rowan.

Mr. Wilfong died January 1, 1947. Since 1949, Mrs. Wilfong had lived with her children.
She had been in fairly good health until Wednesday when she fell at her home. She was taken the same day to the Carroll hospital, where she died the next morning, January 5, 1956.
Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Robert (Lee Fay) Flint, Manilla; and three sons, Dolpha and John Wilfong, Manilla, and Guy Wilfong, Sidney, Neb. She also leaves seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one child in infancy, her parents, nine sisters and brothers.
