Funeral rites for Mrs. Margaret Souter, 86, of Manning were held at 2:00 on Friday afternoon, August 2, 1968, at the Ohde Funeral Home here, with the Rev. Robert Rushing of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.

Daughter of William and Ann (Scott) Patullo, she was born April 27, 1882, in Dundee, Scotland, and came to the United States in 1904. She was married to David Souter on December 2, 1904, and the couple farmed near Botna until moving to Manning in 1947. Mr. Souter died on April 8, 1951.

She continued to live in Manning, and entered Manning General Hospital six weeks ago. She died there on Tuesday afternoon, July 30.

She was a member of Manning Presbyterian Church since 1915.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son David, in infancy. She is survived by two sons, Robert Lyle Souter, Botna; and Alexander Evans Souter, St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
