IN MEMORIAM MARGARETHA AUGUSTA (BOYENS) HAGEDORN SCHROEDER
Margaret, daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Rohr Boyens, was born August 30, 1896, in Aspinwall, Crawford County, Iowa. She was baptized on September 4, 1898.

Margaret started working out before her eighth birthday. On October 13, 1915, she was united in marriage with Louie Hagedorn. They made their home in the Aspinwall area, where Louie farmed and later operated a creamery. Louie died in 1946 following a long illness.

In 1949 Margaret was united in marriage with Johnnie Schroeder. They lived in Manning; and Johnnie farmed with his brother. Johnnie died unexpectedly in 1952. Margaret continued to live in Manning, moving to her present home in South Manning about twenty-five years ago.

She died at her home on Monday morning, November 7, 1983, at the age of 87 years, 2 months, and 7 days.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Fred, Harry, and Andrew (June 4, 1982); and by her sister, Dora Soll.

She is survived by four sisters: Elizabeth, Mrs. Louie Dammann of Manning, Emma, Mrs. Henry Wiese, Elsa, Mrs. Louis Wiese, and Catherine Farley, all of the Manilla Manor Nursing Home, Manilla, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Margaret was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on March 3, 1912.

Services were held on Thursday, November 10, 1983, at 10:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, Iowa. Pastor Paul Krumm officiated. Organist was Dorothy Kusel. Interment was at the Manning Cemetery. Casketbearers were Milford Wiese, Roy Soll, LaVerne Boyens, John Ehrichs, Amos Wiese, and Robbie Dammann.
