Mrs. Toney was born in Manning, Iowa, June 22, 1892. She attended school in Manning and as a young girl moved with her parents to Roberts, Minnesota, where she finished her schooling. She was then employed at St. Luke's Hospital for two years in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, before moving to Zurich, Montana, where in 1914, she was married to Warren Toney, who preceded her in death four years ago.

After her marriage to Mr. Toney, the family moved to the Flathead County, Montana, and made their home in Marian for a time, and later in the Lower Valley on the Jake Wagner ranch. In 1932, Mrs. Toney became ill and had been an invalid for the past many years. She had been a patient at the Flathead County Hospital for the past 31 years. Burial was in Whitefish Cemetery, Whitefish, Montana.

The only Mamie or Viola found in the Manning School database from 1908 through 1911 are Mamie Popp Former 1911 but she married Bertram Eich.
Mamie Lenhart Former 1908 - so this COULD be Mamie Toney
