Floyd Shipp Succumbs Sunday, Funeral at Irwin
Funeral services for Mrs. Floyd Shipp, 51, of Carroll, who died at St. Anthony hospital at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, July 5, 1953, will be held at the Methodist Church at Irwin at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The Revs. C. Hugo Orf, Carroll, and Allen Lewis, Irwin, will officiate. Burial will be the Oak Hill Cemetery in Irwin, Iowa.
The body will remain at the Ohde Funeral home at Manning until the time of services.
Mrs. Shipp had been a patient at the hospital since May 9.
Malinda M. Shipp was born April 28, 1902, the daughter of Lars J. and Christina Axland of Irwin.
Taught School
A graduate of Irwin High School, she later taught rural schools in Shelby
County.
On May 20, 1924, she married Floyd Shipp, who is Roadmaster for the Chicago Great Western Railroad Company.
They lived at Halbur, Somers, Irwin, and Manning before moving to Carroll.
Mrs. Shipp was a member of the Methodist Church here.
Survivors
Survivors include her husband, one son, Eugene, Carroll; one brother, Ted Axland, Irwin; and four sisters: Mrs. Josie Brown, Mrs.
Tina Lykke, and Mrs. Mabel Young, of Irwin, and Mrs.
Clara Sheley, Fairmont, Minnesota.
