Lucy Weber OBITUARY

Lucy Weber was born in Ohio, December 27, 1859, and the first ten years of her life were spent in that state. At above age she came west with her parents and settled in eastern Iowa. Thirty years ago the family came to Audubon County locating in Douglas Township, where her father and brothers owned a large tract of land. On January 1, 1888, she was united in marriage to George Wilson and settled down on a farm in Lincoln Township, where they lived until the spring of 1896. In February of that year on a cold bleak day their house took fire and in a short time was burned to the ground with all household goods. They then moved to northwestern Shelby County not far from Arion and purchased a timbered farm, and immediately began the building up of another home.

Mrs. Wilson's health had been failing for several years and the physician advised an operation. On November 22nd she was operated upon at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha, and departed from this life November, 23rd at the age of 52 years, 10 months and 26 days. She leaves to mourn her departure, three sisters, they are Mrs. Anna Fischer of Denison, Sophia Weber, and Mrs. Mary Berndt of Arion. She also leaves six brothers John, Joseph, Herman, Adam, Charles, and Peter, all of Dow City.

The deceased was buried November 25th in the Catholic Cemetery at Earling.
