LIFE STORY OF LUCY ELVINA MCKEEVER, 73

Lucy Elvina McKeever, daughter of Harry and Frances Lamer was born in Williams Township, Calhoun County, Iowa, March 3, 1883, and died at home in Harlan, December 27, 1956, at the age of 73 years, 9 months, and 24 days.

Mrs. McKeever came to Shelby County at an early age and finished her schooling in Monroe Township while living on the farm with her parents.

August 30, 1900 she married Thomas Watkins McKeever of Shelby County and to this union three children were born: one daughter, Frances May Reynolds, died in 1947 at the age of 45 years. Mrs. McKeever is survived by her husband of Harlan, two daughters, Mrs. Alice Maud Moore of Manning and Mrs. Thelma Caldwell of San Pablo, California; three sisters: Mrs. Susie Foster of Russell, Iowa, Mrs. Hazel Christensen of Russell, and Mrs. Myrtle E. Line of Chevy Chase, Maryland. Also 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She had been a member of the Monroe Methodist church from her youth.
Services were held December 29, 1956, at Pauley's home for funerals.
Burial was at Irwin with Rev. L.B. Beals officiating.

Services for Mrs. Thomas McKeever, 73, were held at Pauley's funeral home Saturday at 2:30 p.m., with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery at Irwin. Mrs. McKeever died following a sudden heart attack at her home in Harlan, Thursday.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Clinton Moore of Manning and Mrs. Clarence Caldwell of San Pablo, California, and three sisters, Mrs. Susie Foster, Mrs. Hazel Christensen, and Mrs. Myrtle Line.
