Mrs. Wiese was born Lucia Stuedeman, eldest daughter of Ernest J. and Anna (Rohwedder) Stuedeman, at Bryant in Clinton County, September 11, 1871.
She was married to Edward Wiese February 21, 1894, and lived on a farm near Westside for eight years after her marriage. The family then moved to the farm east of Manning which has been known for many years as the Wiese farm and is occupied at the present time by Lester Wiese, president of the Tema Hereford Association. The elder Wieses retired and moved to Manning in 1925.
Mrs. Wiese is survived by three children: Lester of Manning; Mrs. Walter J. (Leona) Jones, La Crosse, Wisconsin; and Mrs. Alvie L. (Edna) Nelson, West Salem, Wisconsin. Also surviving are three brothers Irwin Stuedeman of Renwick, and Max and Virtus Stuedeman of Maryville, Missouri; two grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband who died about five years ago, were four sisters: Mrs. Alma Walters, Mrs. Elsa Easterly, Matilda and Laura Stuedeman, all of whom were residents of the Manning area.
Mrs. Wiese's two daughters arrived Thursday from Wisconsin. Her three brothers are expected Friday and Saturday.
