After completing her education, she worked in Denison at various jobs. On April 8, 1942, Loyola was united in marriage with Delmar J. Mundt at St. Ann's Church in Vail. Two years later they moved to a farm one mile west of Manning where they raised their family of nine children. Loyola was a dedicated homemaker. She did a lot of sewing of her family's clothes over the years. After her children were grown, she spent considerable time knitting and crocheting. She made afghans for each of her grandchildren and also donated many afghans to the Manning Plaza Nursing Home at Christmas time. In 1987 Loyola and Delmar retired from their farm and moved to a home in south Manning. The next year her husband died and Loyola continued to live in their home. She also enjoyed traveling during this time in her life,

Due to a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease Loyola entered Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn in October of 2004. After suffering a heart attack and broken hip in the fall of 2005, she returned to her home in Manning with the help of Crawford County Hospice and her family. She died there on Sunday, November 6, 2005, at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 4 days.
