Mrs. Henry Widdekind Dies
Last Thursday, January 26, 1911, Mrs. Henry Widdekind went down to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wilbat to take care of the children for a little while. Suddenly she felt sick and in less than an hour the death angel had taken her away from this earth. Heart trouble brought on her sudden death.

Louise Dorothea Mohrmann was born at Chassell, Germany, July 29, 1850, and was married 23 years later to Henry Widdekind. Two years later she, with her husband, came to America and settled in Cincinnati. In 1881, she returned to Germany and became a teacher in the Kindergarten there.

During her trip her husband finished his college course at Milwaukee. After returning she and her husband worked in many of the larger cities of the country. Nine children were born, six preceding the mother to their graves. Three sons still survive: Carl a printer at Burlington, Fritz, an engineer in Pennsylvania and Hans, an air brake inspector for the Pennsylvania railroad. The two last named sons live at Willington, Delaware. All the sons were present at the funeral. Also the wife and daughter of Fritz were here.

Rev. Fruechte, of the German Evangelical Peace Church preached the funeral and the ladies of the church sang at the home and at the cemetery where their sister worker was laid to rest.

Thus sadly another mother is laid to rest. She has a good mother and loved by all who knew her. Her soul now dwells in peace with the angels above.
