Louise (Nulle) Stoelk was born February 17, 1899, and passed away on March 1, 1954, at her home in Manilla. She had reached the age of 55 years and 12 days. She was the youngest of ten children, born to Henry and Louise Nulle. At the time of her birth the family resided in Carroll County.
On January 14, 1920, she was united in marriage to Harry Stoelk. They lived on a farm until 1937 when they moved to Manilla. Two children were born to the couple, Mrs. Delores Backhaus of Manilla and Lester of Des Moines. Also surviving are her husband, three grandchildren, Carolyn Douglas and Lester Backhaus; two sisters, Mrs. Chester Schroeder of Churdan and Mrs. Dora Jansen of Storm Lake. Mrs. Jansen has been staying with her sister for the past six months helping care for her during her illness.
Last rites were held Wednesday afternoon, March 3 from the Ohde Funeral home in Manning with the Rev. John Klosterboer of the Manilla Presbyterian church officiating. Casket bearers were; Thomas Rowan, Herbert Bandow, Harold Joens, Henry, Herman Jochimsen, and Merlin Schnoor. Interment was in the Manning Cemetery.
