Louisa Signall was the daughter of John and Ida (Lacy) Schoemaker. She was born January 10th, 1904, at Templeton, Iowa. She attended rural schools and graduated from Audubon High School in the early 1920s. On December 16th, 1923, she was united in marriage with Thomas Signall. They lived in several locations which included Gray, and later Manilla, Iowa. Tom her husband passed away suddenly in 1948 due to a heart attack.
Louisa took a hotel management course and worked in that field in Omaha, Nebraska and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She met and married Lester Nicoll of Mechanicsville, Iowa. Later Louisa moved to Marion, Iowa, to be near her daughter Margaret Elaine Ivey and in her last year with her granddaughter Peg Sand in Dallas, Texas.
Louisa passed away in Dallas, on May 22, 1993, and is buried in the Manning Cemetery.

Manning City Cemetery, Manning, Iowa. Reverend Jim Gochenouer of the United Methodist Church in Gray officiated.
Louisa, daughter of John and Ida Lacy Schoemaker, was born January 10, 1904, at Templeton, Iowa. She attended rural schools near her home and graduated from Audubon High School in the early 1920s.
On December 16, 1923 Louisa was united in marriage with Thomas Signall. They made their home in Gray and later in Manilla, Iowa, where Mr. Signall was in the grocery business. Mr. Signall died in 1948.
Liousa took a hotel management course and worked in that field in Omaha, Nebraska and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She met and married Lester Nicoll of Mechanicsville, Iowa. Later Louisa moved to Marion, Iowa, to be near her daughter. In the last year she lived near her granddaughter, Peg Sand, in Dallas Texas.
Louisa died in Dallas on August 20, 1993, at the age of 89 years, 7 months, and 10 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, and her daughter, Elaine Ivey.
Survivors include her son, Gerald Signall, and his wife, Mice, of Brentwood, Missouri; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her brother,
Ralph Shoemaker, and his wife, Coelo, of Longmont, Colorado; as well as other relatives and friends.
Louisa was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gray and was active in the ladies' organizations.
