LOUIS C. STAMMER

Louis C. Stammer, 85, of Manning died Friday afternoon, May 23, 1969, at Manning General Hospital, where he had been a patient for six days. For the last four and one-half years he had been in an Earling nursing home.

Rites will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, with burial in the Manning Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Rushing, minister of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Friends may call at Ohde Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Saturday.

Mr. Stammer, son of Claus and Christine (Schroeder) Stammer, was born June 4, 1883, in Iowa Township, Crawford County. He attended rural schools.

On March 7, 1906, he was married to Mary Louise Schrum and they farmed in Hayes and Iowa Townships until retiring and moving to Manning in 1942. Mrs. Stammer died June 10, 1967.

Surviving are five children including Harold, Leslie, and Milo Stammer, and Mrs. Hugo (Gladys) Jahn of Manning, and Mrs. Ruvilla (Verna) Rowedder, Carroll; also nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Stammer was preceded in death by one grandchild, one great-grandchild, five brothers, and two sisters.
