Death and Sorrow Enters Home of Happy Parents on Christmas Eve.
It is our sad duty to record this week the death of little Louis Schrum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Schrum living in Iowa Township, Crawford County.
On Christmas eve when every little child is waiting for Santa Claus to remember him in behalf of the birthday of the Savior, the Christ Child, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Schrum was grief stricken when the little son and brother, Louis, accidently came in contact with some boiling water and was so severely burnt that he died soon after. In the best of health and in the time of a few hours this pure and innocent little soul began the journey toward the realms of everlasting happiness in the life beyond.
Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, Reverend John M. Ansorge conducted the funeral services which were held from the Lutheran Church, after which the earthly remains were tenderly bedded in our silent city. Louis Schrum was born on the 18th day of May 1921, and died on the 24th of December 1926. He would have been three years old at his next birthday.
Pure as the dew that forms a silver lining over the wide expanse that will artificially decorate his little resting place and crowned with glittering jewels of innocence he has left our midst. There is no better death; he will sleep in peace.
The grief stricken parents have our deepest sympathy.
