Following the committal service all friends and relatives are invited to return to the church for luncheon and fellowship.
Funeral services, under direction of the Ohde Funeral Home of Manning, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, at the Zion Lutheran church here, with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke, officiating. Pallbearers will be Dale, Dennis, and Allen Rowedder, Larry and Lester Popp, and Jim Wiese. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife and two sisters: Mrs. Mamie Eich, Manning, and Mrs. Wilma Wiese, Schaller.
He was preceded by his parents, six brothers: William, Detlef, Otto, Elmer, Erwin, and Henry and two sisters: Mrs. Annie Epsen and Mrs. Esther Bohnsack.
Mr. Popp was born October 7, 1909, in Washington Township, a son of Detlef and Fredericka (Jentzen) Popp. He attended rural school at Hayes No. 3 country school, and was married March 14, 1934, to Lanora Rowedder. They had no children. He farmed near Glidden and Wall Lake before moving to a farm south of Manning in 1947. He was also a seed corn salesman for Garst & Thomas of Coon Rapids. He retired in Manning in 1972. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church. He was in the Manning General Hospital for a week and a half before being transferred a week ago to the Omaha hospital.
