Louis Perry
This week we chronicle the sad news of the death of Mr. Louis C. Perry, which occurred at the home of his sister, Mrs. J.C. Young on Friday morning, April 22. His death was not unexpected, although it was thought by his friends that the end would not come quite so soon. His last spell of sickness dated back from last, August, since which time he had been under the care of the best physicians, not only at home but in Philadelphia. No remedy could be given only to temporarily relieve the sufferings of the sick man and the end finally came. Dilation of the heart and other affections were his ailments. Louis C. Perry was born in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, April 25, 1853. He was the youngest in a family of ten children. In 1876 he came west and located at Carroll City, where he lived most of the time until he moved to Manning about four years ago. No one knew him to wrong a person in any way and as a consequence he had many friends. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. I.H. Elliot from the M.E. Church last Sunday morning.
