LOUIE WEGNER
Louie Wegner, oldest son of William and Emma (Nagel) Wegner, was born June 10, 1901, in Iowa Township, Crawford County. He was married to Lillian Jensen on December 12, 1923, at Denison Iowa. After their marriage they farmed near Denison and Manning. Mr. Wegner having been a lifelong resident of Crawford County. In 1951, they came to live in Denison where Mr. Wegner was employed by the Iowa State Highway Commission until retiring in 1966. His death occurred at his home on Monday afternoon, April 7, 1969.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison on December 25, 1953, and held membership in this church since that time. His funeral service was held here on Thursday afternoon with the Rev. C.W. Schmidt officiating. Hymns were sung by the Lutheran Ladies quartet with Mrs. Fred Rabe serving as organist. Interment was made in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the following acting as bearers Larry Genzen, Roger Gosch, Lester Karsten, Galyn Kruetzfeldt, Harvey Schrum, and Errol Wegner.

Surviving are his widow; three daughters: Mrs. Maurine Kepford of Norwalk, California; Mrs. Evelyn Stephenson of South Gate, California; Mrs. Arlis Petersen of Ute, Iowa; and one son William of South Gate, California; twelve grandchildren; and three sisters Mrs. Mamie Janssen of Gilmore City, Iowa; Mrs. Milda Peters and Mrs. Helen Petersen, both of Manning, Iowa.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and two brothers, Henry and Eddie.
