Loran Francis Sporrer, son of Lawrence and Mildred (Eich) Sporrer, was born June 15, 1961, in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up at Manning and attended Manning Community School with the class of 1979.
Loran was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church in Manning and enjoyed singing during Mass (he had every verse of many hymns memorized). His faith was very important to him and he found great comfort and solace in prayer. Loran enjoyed raising cattle and pigs with his father, and general farm life, mowing the yard, and helping neighboring farmers during the summers and harvest time. In his spare time, he drove around town and visited with friends. He liked helping place flags at the cemetery during Memorial Day. Loran was a frequent visitor of his mother in the nursing home and called her every day during the pandemic.
Loran died unexpectedly on Friday, December 4, 2020, at his home near Manning, Iowa. He was 59 years, 5 months, and 19 days of age.
He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence and a sister Donna and husband Robert T Gaffney.
He is survived by his mother Mildred Sporrer of Manning; siblings: Patricia and husband Richard Treinen of Sioux City; Marilyn and husband Nolan Tillman of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Alice Sporrer of Sioux City; Larry Sporrer and wife Gemma of New York; Lynn Sporrer of Atlantic; Jennifer Sporrer of New Hope in Carroll; lots of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
