Funeral services for Lloyd Rix, 72, retired Manning businessman, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church here with the Rev. George B. Eschenbacher officiating. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.
Mr. Rix, who retired three years ago, died unexpectedly at his home Sunday night, December 1.
A son of Theodore and Louise (Kracht) Rix, he was born February 3, 1891, at Westside. He attended schools there and later moved to Manning where he attended local schools. He left school and assisted an uncle with farming.
He was married to Elfrieda Kaiser of Manning in 1912. The couple spent several years in Manning, then five years in Minnesota. They returned here in 1923 and he was employed by Rober-Wehrmann Co. for many years. In 1939, he began operating a feed store.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters: Mrs. Max (Eileen) Ansorge, Spirit Lake; Mrs. Bert (Ina) Weeda, Santa Ana, California; Mrs. Don (Delores) Weidenhammer, Omaha; a son, Warren Rix, Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
