MRS. LILLY NISSEN

Mrs. Lilly Alvine Nissen, 76, of 721N, Crawford St., Carroll, died at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 1976, at the Carroll Health Center after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Carroll, with the Rev. Donald Wuertz officiating. Interment will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the Twit Funeral Home. The casket will be moved to the church at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and the family prayer service will be held at the church at 1:15 p.m.

Mrs. Nissen was born at Manning April 8, 1899, a son of Jacob and Kathrina (Carlson) Petersen. She married Herman Nissen February 6, 1918, at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. They farmed near Manilla and, in the Manning and Templeton areas before moving to Carroll in 1937.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mrs. Nissen had worked at Clyde's Cafe and also at the Burke Hotel.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. Vernon (Vivaine) Thede and Mrs. Leonard (Marrola) Martens of Carroll and Wailes of Omaha; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a step-grandchild and three step-great-grandchildren; and four sisters.

Preceding Mrs. Nissen in death were her husband and a brother.
