Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Clinton. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Clinton.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton.

Mr. Rathje farmed on the family farm on Stockwell Lane in Clinton. He was a director and past president of American Mutual Insurance Co. and had organized Clinton County Farm Service Co. and served as a director there.

Son of Julius and Mary A. (Roeder) Rathje, he was born May 10, 1911, in Lyons. He married Dorothy Stuedeman in 1933 in Clinton.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Laurie Kuehl, Clinton; sons, Allan, Clinton, and Victor, Amana; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
