Rites Held Here

LeRoy Gustav Mundt, the youngest son of John and Pauline Mundt was born September 10, 1915 at Manning, Iowa.

He became ill Tuesday, September 19, 1939 and was taken to the Carroll hospital on September 21 and passed away there on the 22nd.
LeRoy leaves to mourn his loss his father and mother. He leaves also his brother Henry and a sister Edna. Many relatives and friends mourn his departure.

LeRoy was employed on various farms and lately was employed at Frank Sextro's.

The deceased was 24 years and 12 days of age at the time of his death. He had lived in Odebolt for some time and was an attendant of one of the churches there.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Ohde Funeral Home. Rev. Alexander Wimberly of the Presbyterian church conducted the service. Mrs. Bonita Hagedorn and Mr. Clifford Johnson sang two comforting hymns. Interment took place at the Manning cemetery.

Acting as pallbearers were Arnold Brus, Emil Dammann, Fred Mohr, Raymond Mohr, Henry Hansen, Hugo Hansen.

Funeral Services Held At Ohde Funeral Home Sunday
Manning—LeRoy Mundt, died of spinal meningitis at the isolation hospital in Carroll at 2 o'clock Friday morning. The young man, who had been working on the Frank Sextro farm between Manning and Templeton, had complained of a headache Monday but had continued to work that day. Tuesday he became worse and Thursday morning he was taken to the Carroll hospital where his death occurred early this morning. He was paralyzed and unable to talk.

Private funeral services were held at the Ohde Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, with the Rev. Alexander Wimberley, minister of the Presbyterian Church, officiating. Relatives acted as pallbearers.

LeRoy Mundt, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mundt, was, born at Manning Sept. 10, 1915. After attending the Manning schools he took employment on farms. He had spent several years working on different farms in the Kiron and Odebolt vicinities.

Surviving with parents are one brother, Henry, and one sister, Edna, and his grandfather, Henry Mundt, all of Manning.


LeRoy Mundt is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
