LEORA A. POPP

Leora A. Popp, 89, of Wall Lake and formerly of Manning and Harlan, died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake.

The Rev. Roger Carlisle of Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake will preside at the services.

Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery in Manning.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, June 26, at the funeral home.

Born May 31, 1909, in Manning, she was a daughter of Detlef and Emilie (Vinke) Martens.

She was married to Elmer Popp on February 5, 1930, in Manning.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, watching Chicago Cubs baseball and listening to country music.

Mrs. Popp is survived by four daughters, Neoma Vanderheiden and her husband, John, of Harlan, Betty Pittman and her husband, Virtus, of Wall Lake, Janice Kolb and her husband, Larry, of North Hills, California, and Gloria Cunconan of Altoona; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and two sisters-in-law, Hildegard Martens of California and Lanora Popp of Manning.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer, in 1957; and two brothers, Gilbert and Lewis Martens.
