LEE E. WETZEL
Lee Edward Wetzel, 71, of Manning died after a short illness early Monday, March 30, 1970, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll.

Rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of Christ at Irwin, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Irwin in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning and the casket will be moved to the church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Wetzel farmed eight miles south of Manning. A son of Oswald and Anna (Eigler) Wetzel, he was born January 12, 1899, in Greeley Township, Shelby County. He attended rural schools and Iowa State University, Ames, and farmed in Kansas and Iowa. In 1926, he was married to Edith Constable and they farmed for 20 years northeast of Irwin before moving to the present farm in Lincoln Township.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Richard of Audubon and Gary of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; 12 grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Robert (Theresa) Scott, Defiance; Walter Wetzel and Mrs. Mabel Wendt, Tribune, Kansas; Mrs. John (Annie) Hamminger, Harlan; and Oscar Wetzel, Manilla. Five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
