La Vaun Werdell Obituary La Vaun V. Werdell Funeral services for La Vaun V. Werdell (nee Peters), 87, of Crystal Lake, formerly of Wheaton for 30 years, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, Wheaton, Illinois.

Born July 24, 1916, in Glidden, Iowa, daughter of John and Edna (Graves) Peters. She died Saturday, December 20, 2003, at Wynscape Nursing Home. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton, Illinois.

She attended schools at Manning, Iowa, graduating with the class of 1934.

After retiring from Borg-Warner, La Vaun became the owner/operator of an antique store. She loved ceramics and needlepoint and she also volunteered at Sherman Hospital.

Survivors include her children, Francis (Patricia), Anne Fank, Terrance (Bobbi) and John (Sharon); 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and one brother, Jack W. Peters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; son, Thomas; and grandson, Robert.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
